Every groundbreaking app begins with a series of small ideas that are combined into an all inclusive one. As less attention has been paid to creating communities of women participating in sports, FemRock aims to facilitate this process throughout Europe. HOW WOULD THE APP WORK?
When women login to our application, see a network of strong and supportive women who are motivated to explore, they will ultimately feel more powerful too. Female entrepreneurs in the region will use our application as a platform to promote their businesses in the outdoors industry. This, in turn, will encourage other females to perhaps pursue their dream of launching a start-up in the outdoors industry.
HOW WILL FEMROCK HELP ME AND THE WORLD AROUND ME?
FemRock will be a platform for advocacy for women in the outdoors. FemRock will open dialogues about issues that adversely impact women in the outdoors and then collectively generate ways to work together to effect positive change. For example, FemRock can advocate for means to create and improve policies for achieving gender equality in outdoor sports. As such, FemRock will contribute to the Agenda 2030, including sustainable development goal (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
WHAT WILL I LEARN BY BEING PART OF FEMROCK'S COMMUNITY?
FemRock will create a podcast that will feature stories from powerful female nature-lovers, business people and highlight success stories about previous meetups that were realized via the application. Moreover, it will organize events on a monthly basis where a diverse group of women can enjoy the outdoors together.
